Extension to the DALI program
Light Server
The Light Server 64+ is a DALI
controller that stores system
and scene data and provides the
control functions. Its compact
design gives it great flexibility
when choosing a mounting location.
The ERCO Light Studio software
is included with every Light
Server. The DALI system can be
configured by connecting a PC
via USB or Ethernet. The Ethernet
interface is also used for Light
Server networks.
ERCO Light Studio
The Light Studio software
is used to set up
lighting installations with Light
System DALI and to make its
complex functions available in a
user-friendly format. It consists
of four modules: Light Master,
Light Book, Light Timer, and Light
Sequencer. The software is suitable
for the following operating
systems: Windows 2000, XP and
Vista.

Light Master
The primary function
of the Light Master
module is to process and control
light scenes. The Light Clients
of a Light System are displayed
graphically and as a list. Their
attributes, such as dimmer settings
or colour locations, can be
set interactively, and there are
user-friendly tools such as the
colour wheel, a colour library and
a progression library or dynamic
progressions especially for controlling
varychrome luminaires.
Light Book
The Light Book is used
for the organisation
and spatial structuring of Light
Studio projects. Its main function
is to create zones and assign
Light Clients or Light Changers
to zones. It also defines generic
Light Clients for luminaires from
other manufacturers or custombuilt
ERCO luminaires and saves
the relevant information in the
DALI control gear of the Light
Clients.
Light Timer
The Timer module
allows light scenes to
be recalled at predefined times.
The time and calendar functions
provide great flexibility for the
automation of scenographic lighting,
e.g. to set the light scenes to
shop opening times or licensing
hours, or to reduce the lighting
level during the night.
Light Sequencer
The Light Sequencer is
a tool designed specifically
for the purpose of defining
and storing sequences of light
scenes as a timed progression.
Compared with the dynamic progression
in the Light Master, the
Light Sequencer can be used to
create a sequence of scenes without
specifying a definite starting
time. This component can then
be used for a variety of events
with different starting times. The
actions and fading times for each
scene transition can be set individually.

DALI plug and play
Every Light Client, i.e.
every DALI-compatible
ERCO luminaire, is supplied by
the factory with a unique digital
code pre-programmed in its
DALI control gear. This luminaire
ID contains the product and serial
numbers and thus is the key for
special user-friendly functions
available on commissioning, programming
and operation of Light
System DALI: the Light Studio
software identifies the type of
luminaire and provides the appropriate
infor mation and functions.
Uncoded DALI luminaires from
other manufacturers can, of
course, also be integrated into
Light System DALI and shown
in Light Studio. After a manual
assignment of attributes, they
act the same as Light Clients.
