The expanding economy and rapid development in information and<br />
communication technology has led to a paradigm shift in terms of the role<br />
and skills expected from the computer and management professionals. This has<br />
led to an ever increasing demand for the acquisition of multi-disciplinary skills<br />
and expertise in order to succeed in a dynamic business environment.<br />
To meet the growing demand for management and computer professionals,<br />
<strong>Jamia</strong> <strong>Hamdard</strong> has introduced courses at under-graduate, post-graduate and<br />
doctoral levels under Faculty of Management and Information Technology (FMIT).<br />
In a short span of just eleven years, this faculty has created a niche for itself in<br />
India and abroad. It has attracted students not only from all over India but also<br />
from over 28 countries. The faculty has excellent infrastructure in the form of<br />
library, classrooms and computer labs, which facilitate teaching and research<br />
activities. Bringing together an able team drawn from academic and industry has<br />
enabled students to bridge the gap between the academic and industrial sectors.<br />
Seminars, industrial visits, projects and guest lectures help the students to grasp<br />
the finer points of business. Because of the high standards of education that<br />
the faculty has set, it has attracted students not only from all over India but also<br />
from foreign countries like Afghanistan, Bangladesh, China, Ethiopia, Indonesia,<br />
Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Nigeria, Syria, Taiwan, U.A.E., Uganda,<br />
Uzbekistan and Yemen.<br />
The Faculty strives to provide students with the most up-to-date knowledge in<br />
the field of Management and Information Technology. This is the reason that<br />
the students trained in the faculty have found ready acceptance in industry and<br />
business. Faculty alumni are occupying responsible positions in the corporate<br />
world, in India and abroad.<br />
The demand of skilled management and computer professionals is on the rise<br />
since steps towards liberalization and opening of Indian economy were initiated<br />
more than a decade ago. In the new environment the need for middle level<br />
managers has been minimized. This has created pressure on the new graduates<br />
to acquire skills and knowledge to have multidisciplinary approach to succeed in<br />
the present day world scenario. Despite the common perception of a slowdown in<br />
over all economy, demand for qualified professionals is increasing at a high face.<br />
Aims and Objectives<br />
The Faculty aims to provide higher education and research to enhance the<br />
professional skill of students in various areas of Management and Information<br />
Technology. The objective is to train young graduates as Business Executives<br />
and Information Technologists to face the global industrial dynamism.<br />
Faculty of Management and Information Technology consists of the following<br />
departments/centre:<br />
• Department of Management<br />
• Department of Computer Science<br />
• Computer Centre<br />
Department of Management<br />
In a decade since its establishment, the Department of Management has made<br />
a name for itself. It selects its students through a rigorous process of short listing<br />
on the basis of the MAT (Management Aptitude Test) score, Group Discussion<br />
(GD) and Personal Interview.<br />
The faculty operates using a highly evolved and innovative teaching methodology.<br />
While there is a group of qualified, academically accomplished and dedicated full<br />
time faculty to impart the basics to the students, the faculty differentiates itself<br />
from other institutions by relying on a significant number of working professionals<br />
from the IIMs as well as top companies like McKinsey India and others to deliver<br />
industry-specific knowledge to its students. This ensures that students get a<br />
flavor of the practical world in addition to the theoretical concepts.<br />

• Master of Business Administration (MBA)<br />
• Master of Business Administration – Health and Hospital Management<br />
(MBA-HM)<br />
• Master of Business Administration - Pharmaceutical Management (MBA-<br />
PM)<br />
• Master of Business Administration - Public Health Informatics (MBA-PHI)<br />

: Minimum two years<br />
Eligibility<br />
MBA with atleast 55% marks from any University / Institution recognized by the<br />
Association of Indian Universities. Those who have Master’s Degree in related<br />
disciplines may also be considered if they have done adequate courses in the<br />
core subjects.<br />
Selection Procedure<br />
Admission to PhD programme shall be made on the basis of Entrance test and<br />
Interview of the eligible candidates conducted by <strong>Jamia</strong> <strong>Hamdard</strong>. The Entrance<br />
