MBA- Public Health Informatics<br />

[MBA(PHI)] (Course Code: MBPH 32)<br />

Health dynamics need to be tracked and synthesized to use it as a decision<br />

support system at macro as well as micro levels. Management professionals<br />

equipped with IT, management and health care issues shall be able to make their<br />

presence strongly felt in the health sector after completing this first of its kind<br />

programme in India. The Informatics course addresses the public health sector<br />

where the urgent need is to serve an industry dealing with a growing population<br />

which is complicated by geographical distances and environmental diversity.<br />

Duration<br />

: Two years<br />

Total Seats : 40<br />

(Inclusive of seats reserved for NRI / Sponsored candidates)<br />

Additional Seats for Foreign Nationals.<br />

Eligibility<br />

MBA / MBA (HM) / MBA (PM) / MBA (PHI)<br />

A candidate seeking admission to MBA / MBA (HM) / MBA (PM) / MBA (PHI)<br />

Programmes of study must have:<br />

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized institution with<br />

minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.<br />

• Qualified MAT (with valid score card) conducted by AIMA in May 2009 /<br />

September 2009 / December 2009 or February <strong>2010</strong><br />

• 60% weightage for MAT Score and rest for GD / PI<br />

• Appeared in Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview conducted by<br />

<strong>Jamia</strong> <strong>Hamdard</strong>.<br />

Selection Procedure<br />

MBA / MBA (HM) / MBA (PM) / MBA (PHI)<br />

• The admission will be made on the basis of the merit determined by the<br />

University.<br />

• To seek admission in the MBA programmes of the University, the candidates<br />

shall apply on the prescribed admission application form of <strong>Jamia</strong><br />

<strong>Hamdard</strong>.<br />

• The candidates will have to submit an attested copy of their MAT score card<br />

to <strong>Jamia</strong> <strong>Hamdard</strong>. They should clearly write the application form number /<br />

roll number of <strong>Jamia</strong> <strong>Hamdard</strong> on the back of the score card.<br />

• For admission against the Foreign National / NRI / Sponsored seats, MAT<br />

score is not required (exempted). However, they have to appear for English<br />

proficiency, GD and interview.<br />

• The criteria for selection are given below:<br />

a) Selection through MAT<br />

60% weightage to MAT score<br />

25% weightage to Group Discussion (GD)<br />

15% weightage to Personal Interview<br />

b) (GD and PI may be held in one sitting.)<br />

Important Note:<br />

1. The short listed candidates on the basis of MAT Scores will be called<br />

for GD and Interview at <strong>Jamia</strong> <strong>Hamdard</strong>, New Delhi.<br />

2. The list of short listed candidates will only be displayed on the<br />

University Notice Board and University website www.jamiahamdard.<br />

edu . Individual call letter for interview / GD will not be dispatched. It<br />

is the candidate’s responsibility to appear for GD and Interview on the<br />

proposed date after checking the list on website. In any case, the date<br />

of GD / Interview will not be changed.<br />

3. Candidates found lacking in English proficiency will have to attend special<br />

language classes conducted by the University. A separate fee will be charged<br />

from the candidate(s).<br />

4. Additional 15% of total seats are reserved for foreign nationals as per MHRD/<br />

UGC norms.<br />

STUDENTS’ ACTIVITIES FOR MBA PROGRAMME<br />

In addition to regular academic curriculum, students of various MBA programmes<br />

also organize and actively participate in the following events:<br />

• Seminars / presentations<br />

• Guest lectures<br />

• Industrial tours<br />

• Group Discussion on current topics<br />

• Academia-Industry interaction<br />

Students of other management institutions also participate in many of these<br />

activities. These interactions facilitate peer group learning and advancement.<br />
