In view of limited hostel accommodations, the candidates should note that their<br />
admission to University does not guarantee allotment of hostel accommodation.<br />
Annual hostel charges are payable in advance at the time of allotment. It will<br />
be incumbent upon the student admitted to the hostel to join the mess and pay<br />
mess charges at the rates prescribed from time to time. Mess charges may be<br />
revised at any time due to escalation in the prices of essential commodities.<br />
The students admitted to the hostel are entitled to stay in the hostel during the<br />
academic session only and are required to vacate the rooms during the summer<br />
vacations for maintenance work. Due to acute shortage of hostel accommodation<br />
it will not be possible at present to provide hostel accommodation to the students<br />
of the following programmes:<br />
about Hepatitis-B, DPT and BCG immunization, HIV/AIDS, STD, importance of<br />
cleanliness, illiteracy eradication programme, plantation and related activities.<br />
NSS volunteers also participated in a project sponsored by UNICEF on polio<br />
immunization. NSS volunteers organize Blood donation camp every year A 15<br />
day Special camp is organized by NSS volunteers every year in different slums of<br />
Delhi for community awareness programme. NSS <strong>Jamia</strong> <strong>Hamdard</strong> is a member<br />
of Red Ribbon Club which is HIV/AIDS awareness scheme sponsored by Delhi<br />
Government.<br />
• All Certificate and Diploma Programmes<br />
• Students whose parents or guardians are resident of Delhi, Faridabad,<br />
Ghaziabad, Gurgaon and NOIDA.<br />
It may also be noted that married students who intend to stay with their family<br />
should make their own arrangements outside the campus as University does not<br />
have such accommodations.<br />
SPORTS AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES<br />
<strong>Jamia</strong> <strong>Hamdard</strong> has a well-equipped gymnasium and other sports related facilities.<br />
There are two indoor badminton courts, two table-tennis tables, billiard table and<br />
a hard tennis court. There are playgrounds for cricket, football, basketball and<br />
volleyball. The University organizes sports and cultural week every year for the<br />
students where inter-faculty competitive sports and cultural events are held.<br />
NATIONAL CADET CORPS (NCC)<br />
NCC unit of <strong>Jamia</strong> <strong>Hamdard</strong> is affiliated to 7 Delhi Battalion, New Delhi. Besides<br />
routine drills, NCC cadets participate in several welfare programmes such as<br />
blood donation camps and immunization programmes.<br />
STUDENTS AID FUND<br />
The University has allocated some amount as Students Aid Fund which is meant<br />
for financial help to the needy students. A student, whose parents/guardians<br />
have income of less than Rs.10,000/- per month along with his/her performance<br />
at examinations conducted by <strong>Jamia</strong> <strong>Hamdard</strong> is eligible for applying for the<br />
assistance from this fund.<br />
NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS)<br />
National Service Scheme is a programme sponsored by the Ministry of Youth<br />
Affairs and Sports, Government of India. Since its inception, NSS has enrolled<br />
students from all the faculties. The NSS volunteers participate in various<br />
awareness programmes such as Pulse Polio Immunization camps, awareness<br />
