1.11 Technical Development
Metadata
A suitable metadata structure and controlled vocabularies for the cataloguing of the
garments will be developed in agreement with Zandra Rhodes, which will be mapped to the
existing VADS structure, which is based on the Visual Resources Association (VRA) Core
4.0 standard. This metadata will be recorded in an appropriate database, the requirements
for which will be specified at the outset of the project. The current preferred choice for this
software is Extensis Portfolio (which the Digital Cataloguer implemented as part of a
