Project Identifier: Version: 2 Contact: Kerstin Mey Date: 15 December 2011 JPEG JPEG images for online delivery via VADS and the Open Educational Resource. 1.13 Intellectual Property Rights The project is based on the collection of fashion garments owned and designed by Zandra Rhodes and located in London. Zandra Rhodes has written a letter of support for the project giving full agreement to the digital capture of these objects and complementary primary source material. Formal licence and consortium agreements are in preparation which will deal with the licensing for any digital material that is created. This will ensure that copyright in the original digital images is not transferred and is retained by Zandra Rhodes, but will permit use of the collection for non-commercial purposes. The copyright status of any additional primary source material and secondary source material selected for use in the OER will be ascertained at the early stages of the project through a copyright audit. Advice will also be sought from Naomi Korn, copyright consultant to the JISC programme, and the project will also draw on JISC guidance such as the Strategic Content Alliance’s IPR toolkit. Martin Cumella, Consultant, m.cumella@mcaconsult.co.uk A consortium agreement will be signed within three months of the project start date, in accordance with the JISC funding requirements. 2.2 Project Management The Pro Vice-Chancellor for Access and Widening Participation and Executive Dean for Kent at UCA will act as the Project Sponsor who will champion the project. The Director of Research and Enterprise at UCA will act as the Project Director. The project will be managed by a Project Manager, who will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the project and ensuring effective communication between the project team. The Project Manager will also provide regular reporting to JISC and to the Project Director. The project team will consist of the Metadata Researcher, Digital Cataloguer, Photographer, the Learning Technologist, two consultants, and student assistants. The Metadata Researcher will lead on: the selection and identification of fashion garments; the establishment of the metadata set supported by the expertise of Zandra Rhodes as consultant; the staging of the fashion items for digital capture; and they will also ensure the accurate match between the physical and digital data. The Digital Cataloguer will develop the digital metadata catalogue for the recording of this information, provide training and ongoing support on its use, and will also develop an appropriate metadata structure, controlled vocabularies, and written guidelines to document and support use of the catalogue. The Photographer will execute the digital photography and post-production of the digital images, and will lead on the staging and lighting of the items.
