T ake a few minutes to review the materials available. Becoming familiar with this year’s resources will help you take inventory of the ones you need and discard those items that are out of date. Please take advantage of other Women’s League materials to help your campaign, especially the public relations handbook Sisterhood: Who? What? When? Where? Why? PINS The pins given for a special gift are the most visible campaign tools for Torah Fund. Wear this year’s pin and encourage your development team to wear it too. Distribute the Benefactor and Guardian pins when a pledge is made. That way you can use the momentum created by all of the women who are wearing the pins to promote Torah Fund for the entire year. The pins for Associate Patron, Patron, and Scholarship Patron are sent directly from the Torah Fund office to the donor. LITERATURE Reviewing the list of items available from Torah Fund gives you an idea of all the literature waiting for you at the Torah Fund office. Brochures and envelopes, pledge cards, and thank-you notes are all there. Take special note of the following items. Cards—In your kit are samples of all the available cards. The acknowledgement cards are given with a minimum donation of $4. Plus Giving cards, which are sent from the Torah Fund office, are given with a minimum gift of $18. Beautiful cards are an easy way for women to contribute to Torah Fund. The cards can be ordered online at www.jtsa.edu/torahfundgiving. • TORAH FUND brochure for use at Torah Fund meetings. • SCHOLARSHIP brochure: All Jews are responsible for one another. • DOUBLE YOUR DOLLAR brochure listing available corporate matching gifts. • PLEDGE CARDS for use at all Torah Fund events. • GIFT OPPORTUNITY ENVELOPES for solicitation mailing and follow-up. • TZEDAKAH BOX • GREETING CARDS • SPECIAL GIFT ENVELOPES to order tribute cards marking life-cycle events. Minimum gift: $18 for Plus Giving. • THANK-YOU NOTE to be used by chair to acknowledge gifts to Torah Fund. Gifts of $180 and over also receive the Benefactor pin. • INVITATION SHELLS may be used for all sisterhood and Region Torah Fund functions. Tzedakah Box—The beautiful Torah Fund Tzedakah Box is another easy entry point for women to begin giving to Torah Fund. Distribute these boxes at the Annual Paid- Up Membership event and the first board meeting, and to preschool and religious school parents. Invitation Shells—Each year, the Torah Fund office supplies invitation shells (at no cost) that you can have printed for Torah Fund functions. Woman of Achievement Award—This is a lovely certificate to give to a member who has made a significant contribution to the growth of sisterhood, the development of Women’s League, and the advancement of Torah Fund. The woman who wins the award should know that a contribution was made to Torah Fund in her honor. The certificate can be ordered online at www.jtsa.edu/torahfund.xml—go to Forms, then Woman of Achievement, and fill out the information. Double Your Dollar Brochure—Make this brochure widely available. Nothing is easier to do than have participating companies match a charitable contribution. Women can step up to the next level of giving through a matching gift. Many companies now make their matches online. Please check with your company to see how it’s done. Be sure to let us know that your gift will be matched. 12
