Brett Dennis Gunter
Personal Profile
Mr. Gunter is a geologist, graduating from the University of Technology, Sydney in 1989 with a
Bachelor of Applied Science (Geology) and has nearly twenty years of experience in the mining
industry. He has worked professionally in Australia and for the last 13 years in Indonesia. He
has been involved in project management and exploration management roles for most of his
career and has a broad experience in exploration and mining practices, particularly in relation to
operations in Indonesia. He has held the position of statutory Mine Manager at a the Warroo
Gold Mine in Queensland, Project Manager at a sand mining operation in South Sumatera and
as Project Manager/Kepala Teknik Tambang at the Mount Muro Gold Mine in Kalimantan. In
addition, Mr. Gunter has spent a large portion of his career exploring for and evaluating a wide
range of deposits in tropical environments, including staff and consulting assignments in gold,
silver, copper, lead, zinc, laterite nickel, iron ore, bauxite and heavy mineral sands.
Mr. Gunter opened PT GMT Indonesia, a Jakarta based consulting group, in 2001 to focus on
the Indonesian minerals sector and now employs more than 80 professional and support staff
working in a number of areas in the Indonesian mining sector. PT GMT Indonesia consults to a
number of multi-national clients in coal, gold, laterite nickel, iron, ore, base metals, tin, mineral
sands and industrial minerals and also consults to a number of Indonesian national mining
groups.
Mr. Gunter speaks, reads, and writes in the Indonesian language and has had good exposure to
non-technical aspects of working within Indonesia such as Mining Law, community development
and liaison, Company Law, Labour Law, operational agreements, contract administration, mine
closure, metallurgy and environmental studies.
