Director’s Message
I am glad to see how IIM Raipur has grown since its
inception in 2010 and developed to create a benchmark
in the field of Management Education and Research.
OPEP, the Operations and Supply Chain Club of the
Institute, has played an important role in this journey
towards excellence. The biannual e-magazine ‘Strive’
started by our students has been successful since its
launch last year.
I am pleased to present the third issue of ‘Strive’, which
focuses on the Manufacturing Sector in India. Over the
years, various policies and initiatives taken by the
Government of India has made it one of the fastest
growing economies in the world. But the less than
expected growth rate of the Indian Manufacturing
Industry has been a cause of concern. With the new
National Manufacturing Policy (NMP) and several
other reforms on the anvil, the scenario is expected to
change in the near future. We can hope to witness the
contribution to the GDP from this industry to rise to a
more respectable figure from the present value of nearly
16%. I hope that this magazine will give you many
interesting and insightful reads about this crucial
subject.
I wish OPEP a great success in their endeavour and
hope that you enjoy reading this publication.
