Friendraisers or Fundraisers?
Both, we say. Your organization can run
events where you meet your financial expectations,
use resources efficiently, limit risks
and provide for a great experience to participants.
In this workshop, we will explore
the ins and outs of special event management
including a discussion of the types of
events most popular with nonprofit organizations,
outsourcing versus staffing in-house,
elements of a well-run event, and more.
Setting benchmarks to ensure you are providing
a positive experience for attendees to help
build your donor base will also be discussed.
Participants should come with an actual
fundraising event identified that can be used
during in class exercises. This workshop is
most appropriate for those with some previous
experience planning and implementing
fundraising events.

Advanced Grant Writing
During this session participants will focus
on the more advanced aspects of writing
a grant proposal for nonprofit funding.
Plus, you’ll get hands-on practice writing
a real proposal. Those attending should
have already attended KCC’s Basic Grant
Seeking Lab and Basic Grant Proposals
workshops or have previous experience in
writing and submitting funding proposals.

Nonprofit Board Series
Nonprofit Board Basics
Learn the basic roles and responsibilities of
nonprofit boards of directors. Legal aspects
of board service as well as tips and best
practices of highly effective boards will be
discussed. Participants will also have the
opportunity to share their personal experiences
to enhance group learning.
