Elaine Malicki<br />

Councillor Malicki is the longest serving<br />
female Councillor in <strong>Ku</strong>-<strong>ring</strong>-<strong>gai</strong> Council’s<br />
history. First elected to council in 1991,<br />
Councillor Malicki has served the people of<br />
Comenarra Ward for over 20 years, having<br />
been declared elected on 6 occasions. She<br />
was Mayor du<strong>ring</strong> <strong>Ku</strong>-<strong>ring</strong>-<strong>gai</strong>’s Centenary<br />
Year <strong>and</strong> initiated programmes such as<br />
Ward <strong>and</strong> Youth Summits, a Small Business<br />
Forum <strong>and</strong> a Regional Sporting Forum. She<br />
has supported significant improvements<br />
to facilities throughout the region du<strong>ring</strong><br />
her time on Council, while protecting the<br />
built <strong>and</strong> natural environment for future<br />
generations. Cr Malicki has strong links to<br />
our community <strong>and</strong> sporting groups, <strong>and</strong> is<br />
an enthusiastic advocate for residents.<br />
She is also one of Council’s representatives<br />
on the State appointed Joint Regional<br />
<strong>Plan</strong>ning Panel. Cr Malicki is a former<br />
schoolteacher <strong>and</strong> she <strong>and</strong> her husb<strong>and</strong><br />
have raised three sons in <strong>Ku</strong>-<strong>ring</strong>-<strong>gai</strong>.<br />

Steven Holl<strong>and</strong><br />

Councillor Holl<strong>and</strong> has lived in <strong>Ku</strong>-<strong>ring</strong>-<strong>gai</strong><br />
for nearly 30 years. He came to Council<br />
through initiating a community-based<br />
sustainability program within West Pymble.<br />
He has recently completed a Master of<br />
Applied Science (Social Ecology) <strong>and</strong> would<br />
like to foster a collaborative relationship<br />
between the community <strong>and</strong> Council.<br />
