Wheel Design
BW – Back Plate Radial Wheel
An open back plate radial blade wheel that is ideally suited
for most air and material handling applications. This wheel is
furnished with an inlet rim on heavy-duty units. Consult factory
for special wheel construction on heavy-duty applications
requiring a clog-free wheel. Available to size 63".
OW – Open Wheel
The open type wheel is recommended for applications handling
heavy, granular, or abrasive materials. Air performance is less
than that of the back plate design. Reinforcing rims are added
to size 44" and larger in heavy-duty units.
AW – Air Wheel
The air wheel is designed for maximum efficiency when
handling air, fumes, gases, or light concentrations of fine
particulate matter. Eight slightly backwardly inclined blades
allow for more efficient airflow into the fan.
Bearings and Drives
Heavy-duty ball and spherical roller bearings are used on all
arrangements, and are oversized to insure max-imum bearing
life. The belts and sheaves on the belt-driven arrangements
are manufactured by Browning, and are selected to provide
additional allowances of 1.3 to 2 times the normal satisfactory
capacity.
Motors
All motors are in NEMA type foot-mounted frames. Motor
types available include totally-enclosed, cooled, totallyenclosed
explosion-proof, or open-type drip-proof (with or
without special insulations as required).
