With Our Business Partners<br />

We feel that the highest priority must be placed on our mission statement “Develop<br />

products of superior value by focusing on the customer” when contributing to society.<br />

And in creating products of value, it is our belief that the procurement section’s role<br />

is to work in mutual cooperation with our business partners so that both parties may<br />

prosper. We select our business partners through an impartial procedure based on<br />

quality, cost, deadline delivery, and technical development capabilities. And we have<br />

an open door policy, which offers the chance of teaming up with <strong>Suzuki</strong> regardless of<br />

size or track record.<br />

01 Sustainable Relationships<br />

In creating trusting relationships with our business partners we hope to build sustainable relationships. And because we feel<br />

that mutual communication is an important part of this, we promote the sharing of ideas not only with the top management<br />

but also among middle management and project heads, etc.<br />

02 Global Procurement<br />

We are working to develop stronger <strong>global</strong> procurement activities by working with <strong>global</strong> manufacturing bases. Procurement<br />

activities in the past were mainly focused on individual bases, but we have shifted to a more <strong>global</strong> approach to obtain the<br />

most suitable parts at competitive prices. This benefits not only <strong>Suzuki</strong>, but also our business partners who benefit with<br />

volume order stability, and also give way to the accumulation of technology. By sharing these merits we can build more<br />

confident relationships.<br />

03 Business Continuity Plan<br />

In addition to earthquake-proof reinforcing of individual office buildings, we have started compilation of a business<br />

continuity plan (BCP).<br />

We also recognize our responsibility to local communities, our business partners and customers for being prepared for<br />

large-scale disasters, including earthquakes, and recommend disaster measures such as quakeproofing to our partners<br />

located in areas that are likely to experience heavy damage. We are also prepared to aid our business partners in their<br />

recovery if they should fall victim to such disaster.<br />
