Wzmianka o przemyśleniach prof. Corradi i ich
związku z powstaniem programu Erasmus nie pojawia
się bez przyczyny, bo to właśnie ona weszła
w skład delegacji włoskich, które w latach 60., 70.
oraz 80. spotykały się bilateralnie z delegacjami
niemieckimi i francuskimi, aby opracować założenia
wymiany studentów i wykładowców. Do pierwszego
spotkania, w którym wzięli udział przedstawiciele
konferencji rektorów uczelni włoskich i zachodnioniemieckich,
doszło w listopadzie 1969 r. w Ettligen
koło Karlsruhe; do drugiego, w którym uczestniczyli
przedstawiciele konferencji rektorów uczelni
włoskich i francuskich, w grudniu tego samego
roku w Pizie. Podczas tych spotkań postanowiono
powołać dwustronne komisje, których zadaniem
było zidentyfikowanie równoważników przedmiotów
lub kursów w programach studiów w niektórych
dziedzinach, ażeby umożliwić wymianę studentów
między uczelniami włoskimi i niemieckimi oraz włoskimi
i francuskimi. Podjęcie rozmów na szczeblu
delegacji krajowych świadczyło o tym, że w tamtym
okresie uczelnie nie miały autonomii programowej,
a sztywne i prawie całkowicie predefiniowane programy
kształcenia uniemożliwiały, a z pewnością
bardzo utrudniały, wymianę studentów. Pewne
zdziwienie budzą też fragmenty sprawozdań przekonujące,
iż zagraniczny okres studiów może być
korzystny nie tylko dla studentów, którzy mają za
granicą rodziny.
Reflections of prof. Corradi and their relation with the
establishment of the Erasmus programme are mentioned
for a reason, as prof. Corradi was a member of Italian
delegations who in 1960’, 1970’ and 1980’ held bilateral
meetings with delegations from Germany and France with
a view to develop assumptions for student and teacher
exchanges. The first meeting of representatives of Italian
and German conferences of rectors was held in November
1969 in Ettligen near Karlsruhe. The second meeting held
by representatives of Italian and French conferences of
rectors was staged in December that year in Pisa. During
the meetings, it was decided that bilateral commissions
would be appointed, whose task was to identify equivalent
subjects or courses in study programmes in specific
fields to facilitate student exchanges between universities
in Italy and in Germany and between universities in Italy
and in France. Commencing discussions at the level of
national delegations meant that at that time HEIs did not
enjoy independence in terms of study programmes, and
stiff and almost fully pre-defined curricula made it virtually
impossible, albeit difficult to stage student exchanges.
Today, the statement included in the report saying that
study abroad might be beneficial not only for students
who have families abroad may sound odd.
In 1969, following broad student protests staged the
previous year, an in-depth discussion on the autonomy
of European universities was held, which facilitated talks
on student exchanges.
