GBM Banking
For GBM Banking Japan and GBM Banking Australia, graduates will go through a
tailor made local programme, designed to meet the unique nature of these markets.
For the Asia Regional GBM Banking programme, graduates will have the
opportunity to take 3 rotations across five of our business areas, within one year.
These businesses may include Debt Capital Markets (DCM), Corporate Finance,
Equities Origination, Sector & Country Coverage and Portfolio Management,
However rotations will be allocated on business demand, and final placement will
be decided and discussed with you halfway through your two year programme.
GBM Banking – Corporate Finance
We advise companies on the strategic and financial issues of buying and selling
companies, parts of companies or assets – and help them to execute these
complex transactions. Our work spans a wide range of transactions: auctions,
leveraged buy-outs, public company takeovers and management buy-outs. We also
help clients defend against hostile bids, advise on strategic alliances and provide
fairness opinions on transactions.

What will you be doing as an analyst?
You’ll work on a number of different projects and gain exposure to the full range of
corporate finance work. You will have the chance to get involved in every aspect
of a transaction. From making presentations to number crunching, from process
management to people management, no two days will ever be the same.
GBM Banking – Debt Capital Markets
Debt Capital Markets (DCM) provides financing solutions to a wide range of clients,
including sovereigns, agencies, financial institutions and corporates, working
seamlessly across our own product sets, and those of our internal partners to
maximise revenues from every opportunity.
What will you be doing as an analyst?
As an analyst, you will typically be responsible for preparing market analysis, credit
analysis (looking at the inner workings of a company and generating meaningful
conclusions) and client pitches, as well as producing information memorandums
and transaction modelling. Moreover, you will be given responsibility from day one,
so you will have a real opportunity to learn and progress quickly. In fact, in no time
at all, you will be interacting directly with clients.
