GBM Banking – Equities Origination
In Equities Origination we help corporates, governments and financial institutions
raise capital in the stock markets. Our role is one of trusted adviser on all matters
concerning the equity markets. And our work is broadly split and carried out by a
number of different specialist teams: Equity Capital Markets, Corporate Broking,
Equity-Linked and Strategic Equity Solutions.
What will you be doing as an analyst?
You’ll become familiar with the equity markets (and perhaps other capital
markets) from an early stage. You’ll also enjoy plenty of client exposure and early
responsibility. Your day-to-day work will be diverse and include helping compose
presentations to clients, helping clients with their messaging, keeping clients
abreast of market developments/rumour and execution of transactions.
GBM Banking – Sector & Country Coverage

In Sector & Country Coverage, we use five industry-specific expertise to generate
investment banking ideas and opportunities for our clients. Virtually every major
transaction in GBM Banking is underpinned and originated by our efforts in this
area.
What will you be doing as an analyst?
You will learn how to perform in-depth analysis of companies in your sector as
well as how to consolidate your findings into compelling client presentations. We
will also show you how to carry out company valuations and use financial models.
Once you’re up and running, we’ll expect you to spot strategic opportunities for our
product teams.
GBM Banking – Portfolio
Portfolio consists of three businesses: Transaction and Portfolio Management
(TPM), Global Portfolio Distribution (GPD) and Portfolio Analytics (PA). The
combined teams are at the heart of managing GBM’s portfolio and work closely
with Sector & Country Coverage and the product specialists to determine the best
use of the Bank’s capital.
What will you be doing as an analyst?
Join TPM and you’ll help originate, structure and execute transactions for GBM’s
core corporate client base.
Join GPD, on the other hand, and you’ll work with portfolio managers from around
the world to identify assets designated for sale.
Finally, if you join us in PA, you’ll undertake qualitative and quantitative analysis to
support the work of the other two teams.
