Internships
An internship is a great way to gain an insight into the world of GBM. It offers
valuable real experience and could help you secure a place on our graduate
scheme the following year.
For penultimate year students around the Asia Pacific region, we offer a range of
internships across our different business areas. These are open to students from
all academic disciplines who can demonstrate an interest in banking and finance.
They are normally held in the summer, but for specific students we offer alternative
opportunities throughout the year.
After a one-week induction, when you’ll learn financial markets basics and
important soft skills to adapt to your new workplace, you’ll spend the remaining
time learning from leading banking professionals and gaining hands-on experience.
Throughout, you’ll have the chance to attend a number of high-profile networking
events. We’ll also assign you a buddy to guide you throughout.
You’ll find out what makes us different to other banks and what helps people to
flourish here. We’ll also give you the chance to showcase your talents. Perform well,
and we’ll offer you a graduate position for the following year.

We will ask you some questions so that you can demonstrate why you think it is the
right time to join RBS. You will also be required to upload your CV and academic
transcript.
Recruitment process
The next stage of the selection process follows format of psychometric tests,
structured competency and technical interviews with our business representatives,
and assessment centres – where you’ll take part in a variety of exercises.
