First of all, I would like to thank Allah for all blessings.
After the completion of my thesis, I would like to express my deep
gratitude to my supervisor, Prof. Dr. Saad N. Al-Saadi, for suggesting the
research project, and for his continuous guidance and encouragement
during my work, without him it would have been impossible for this
study to be completed.
I am very grateful to the College of Science deanery and to the Head
of the Department of Geology at Sulaimani University for all facilities
they offered to complete the research.
I also greatly appreciate the assistance of the Ministry of Water
Resources in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, and of Mr. Dleir Abdullah (the
general manager) at this ministry, and the directory of water wells in
Sulaimani for all efforts and facilities they offered during field stage,
through the process of drilling three wells to get rock samples in the
study area.
I would like to submit my thankfulness and appreciation to Dr. Kamal
Ahmad Rashid, the dean of the College of Engineering, at Sulaimani
University, and to Mr. Farhad Rahim Kareem and Mr. Younis Mustafa Ali
