Develop New Financial Resources
Develop public/private initiatives to enhance the City’s
revenue capacity. Leverage financial resources.
Quality Public Spaces, Arts, Wellness
and Recreation
Landscape and beautify neighborhoods in
collaboration with neighborhood associations.
Acquire land and construct new facilities in concert
with the Parks, Recreation and Trails Masterplan.
The library will host and promote at least one free
cultural event per quarter. Establish public/private
partnerships and promote community events and
culturally diverse programs.
Quality Development
Develop reliable and efficient infrastructure
systems that support desired development.
Promote a comprehensive, integrated approach to
all land use decisions. Design, bid and construct
an expanded Airport Terminal area apron and
improve apron access to promote air charter and
commercial service.
Superior Municipal Services
Establish “Best Practices” benchmarks by meeting
necessary requirements for compliance to Clean
Air Interstate Rules and conducting residential and
commercial customer satisfaction surveys monthly.
Ensure safe, reliable and efficient services.
Safe, Attractive Neighborhoods
Provide public safety services consistent with
community and industry standards. Expand fire
rescue services in southwest Lakeland through the
design and construction of a new fire station and
the hiring of new personnel trained in aircraft
rescue and firefighting. Empower residents to
address neighborhood
safety concerns through
a c t i v i t i e s o f t h e
Neighborhood Association
Coalition.
Support Education
Engage in partnerships with area education
institutions.
