The student will learn basic accounting theory and procedures. Students will prepare<br />

books <strong>of</strong> original entry and post to general and subsidiary ledgers. Students will perform<br />

accounting procedures using the voucher system, and will prepare adjusting entries, and<br />

fi nancial statements.<br />

Introductory course in accounting, applying basic accounting principles to specialized<br />

business operations and organizations including partnerships, corporations, and<br />

manufacturing enterprises. Students will perform job order cost accounting, process cost<br />

accounting, budgeting and an analysis <strong>of</strong> the source and application <strong>of</strong> funds statement.<br />

The history and philosophy <strong>of</strong> Administration <strong>of</strong> Justice in the United States, including<br />

the theories <strong>of</strong> crime, punishment, rehabilitation, ethics, education and training for<br />

pr<strong>of</strong>essionalism in the justice system.<br />

and degrees <strong>of</strong> evidence, and rules governing admissibility; judicial decisions interpreting<br />

individual rights and case studies.<br />

courts. Reviews the different procedures in court settings and how the courts decisions<br />

impact society as a whole.<br />

This course presents the history and development <strong>of</strong> patrol philosophy and planning for<br />

fi eld activities. The topics considered include the functions <strong>of</strong> patrol, traffi c, and other<br />

preliminary investigative duties <strong>of</strong> the fi eld <strong>of</strong>fi cer. The handling <strong>of</strong> civil and domestic<br />

disturbances and other community crime incidents are also discussed.<br />

reports and arrest reports. Students will become familiar with many <strong>of</strong> the reports and<br />

writing styles used by local law enforcement agencies.<br />

Provides an introduction to the history and sociology <strong>of</strong> a gang. Topics include the<br />

organization and structure <strong>of</strong> a street gang, recruitment into a gang, gang attire, hand signs,<br />

tattoos, body language, graffi ti, and their effect on society. The organizational structure <strong>of</strong> a<br />

prison gang and the relationship with organized crime are also covered.<br />
