Nutrition is the science that deals with the role <strong>of</strong> nutrients in the human body. These<br />

scientifi c concepts are related to individual needs during the changing life cycles.<br />

Interrelationships <strong>of</strong> nutrients are evaluated for promotion <strong>of</strong> optimum health.<br />

Modifi cation <strong>of</strong> the normal diet to meet the needs <strong>of</strong> individuals according to age, disease,<br />

surgery and other health conditions. Current concepts <strong>of</strong> diet modifi cation related to health<br />

are explored. Diets frequently used in health care institutions are included.<br />

forces on family stability. Emphasis will be placed on the intergenerational nature <strong>of</strong><br />

family relationships.<br />

laws, drugs used by the elderly, psychosocial and physical needs among other topics.<br />
