Transfer & Career Center<br />

The Transfer & Career Center provides students with career<br />

and transfer services to assist students through the career<br />

exploration process and ensure a smooth transition to four-year<br />

universities. Our staff is highly dedicated to your success.<br />

Our services include: counseling appointments to address<br />

career and transfer questions, appointments with university<br />

representatives, transfer and career fairs, spotlight on careers<br />

workshops (see below), transfer related workshops, career<br />

assessments to help you decide on a major. We provide access<br />

to the internet and specialized s<strong>of</strong>tware for career exploration,<br />

information on university field trips, access to public and<br />

private University catalogs, and much more.<br />

TRIO/Student Support Services (SSS) Program<br />

The TRIO/Student Support Services (SSS) Program is a<br />

federally funded program designed to identify and provide<br />

resources to help students persist through college. SSS provides<br />

support services that promote and facilitate students’ academic<br />

and personal success. To qualify for SSS, students must meet at<br />

least one <strong>of</strong> these requirements: 1) Be a first-generation college<br />

student (neither parent has a bachelor’s degree);<br />

2) meet an income guideline; 3) be a student with a disability.<br />

Students selected to participate in SSS will qualify for oneon-one<br />

academic advising and counseling, individual and<br />

group tutoring, career counseling, study skills workshops,<br />

trips to cultural sites and colleges, and grant aid through a<br />

selective process.<br />
