Prerequisite: None<br />
The student will learn how to operate a micro-computer. The student will become familiar<br />
with the use <strong>of</strong> a spreadsheet program and a database program. The student will complete a<br />
series <strong>of</strong> projects on the microcomputer. Currently popular microcomputer s<strong>of</strong>tware will be<br />
utilized IBM PC’s and compatibles.<br />

This program is open to all students who wish to gain transferable college credit for<br />
working toward goals at their job. Students may enroll in this program for up to 4<br />
semesters, a maximum <strong>of</strong> 4 units per semester. A student may take only one Coop Ed<br />
section per semester.<br />
NOTE: Only one Cooperative Education class may be taken each semester.<br />

Students must be employed, or in a voluntary job. One mandatory orientation is required.<br />

Coverage includes data types, operators and expressions, control fl ow, functions and<br />
program structure, pointers, arrays, arrays <strong>of</strong> pointers, structures, I/O, and text fi les.<br />
Examples illustrate programming techniques, algorithms, and the use <strong>of</strong> library routines.<br />

An overview <strong>of</strong> computer programming in C++. It emphasizes the syntax and grammar<br />
<strong>of</strong> the language, problem solving methods, how different data types work in Object<br />
Oriented programming. Major topics include classes, inheritance, polymorphism,<br />
overloaded functions.<br />
