Education Foundation The Education Foundation accepts donations of new clothing for homeless and destitute children in Osceola County. Social workers with the Osceola County School District “shop” in the Kids Closet and provide the clothing and personal items to the deserving students. The purpose of the Education Foundation - Osceola is to assist the School District of Osceola County in continuing its tradition of excellence in educating students. The Education Foundation provides a Teacher Community Liaison to newly-hired teachers, scholarships to graduating Osceola County students, classroom enhancement programs, scholarships, and recognition of our community’s dedicated educators. A Gift For Teaching Osceola County – In a partnership with Orlando’s A Gift For Teaching, the Foundation provides a teacher FREE store providing school supplies for needy children in classrooms. A Gift For Teaching is stocked with donated surplus supplies, slightly-damaged merchandise, and individual gifts, as well as items obtained through an annual school supply drive. Since opening in 2004, A Gift For Teaching – Osceola County has distributed more than $8 million worth of products to teachers and students. Design & Go Studio – Open to the public, the Design & Go Studio is your one-stop print, cut, and finish solution. Self-service laminating, poster making, die cuts, and more! Scholarships – The Education Foundation has given over 2,000 scholarships to graduating seniors in Osceola County since 1995. Mentoring – Take Stock In Children - This is a program that matches students from low-income families with mentors in Osceola County. Upon graduation from the program, the Education Foundation provides a fouryear Florida Prepaid Program Scholarship for the student to attend college. Bookmark Buddies – This program matches mentors with third graders who are in danger of being retained due to low FCAT reading scores.
