Ralph S. Croskey, Jr.<br />
Ralph S. Croskey, Jr., of Ronkonkoma, <strong>NY</strong> and<br />
Boca Raton, FL, died peacefully on October 24, 2008<br />
in Florida at the age of 87. He was born on March<br />
24, 1921 in Philadelphia, PA to Lucile <strong>St</strong>othart and<br />
Ralph S. Croskey whom predeceased him. Ralph<br />
grew up in PA, graduated from Haverford School in<br />
1939 then continued his education at Cornell<br />
University, graduating in 1943. He was an officer in<br />
the U.S. Air Force during WWII serving from 1943-<br />
1946. He received his law degree from the University<br />
of Pennsylvania in 1948. A published author in 2004<br />
and long-time manager of Mutual of <strong>NY</strong> in<br />
Manhattan.<br />
Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth. Devoted<br />
father of Ralph III, Christine, <strong>St</strong>ephen, Rebecca and<br />
Julie. Devoted step-father of Cindy, George and Kim.<br />
Loving brother of Thomas and Mary Lou. Cherished<br />
grandfather of 21 grandchildren and one great grandchild.<br />
A memorial visitation and service was held at the<br />
<strong>St</strong>. <strong>James</strong> Funeral Home in <strong>St</strong>. <strong>James</strong>, <strong>NY</strong>.<br />

Thomas Christy<br />
Thomas W. Christy, formerly of Smithtown and<br />
Hanover <strong>Town</strong>ship, passed away on November 24,<br />
2008 at the age of 82 at the VNA Hospice of <strong>St</strong>.<br />
Luke’s, Lower Saucon <strong>Town</strong>ship. He and his wife<br />
Gertrude E. (McCormack) Christy celebrated their<br />
59th anniversary in August.<br />
Born in the Bronx, <strong>NY</strong>, he was the son of the late<br />
Thomas W. and Helen (O’Donnell) Christy. He was a<br />
1944 graduate of Valley <strong>St</strong>ream High School, and a<br />
1950 graduate of <strong>St</strong>. John’s University. Thomas<br />
served with the US Army Air Corp during World War<br />
II. He worked for Shell Oil in Brooklyn retiring as<br />
Plant Manager in 1987 after 35 years of service. He<br />
was a volunteer teacher for Project Business in<br />
Brooklyn. Thomas was a member of Notre Dame<br />
Catholic Church of Bethlehem, where he served as a<br />
Eucharistic Minister; and after retiring, he volunteered<br />
as finance/business manager at the Church for<br />
17 years. Thomas was a volunteer or the YMCA of<br />
Greater New York in Manhattan, where he was a<br />
three-time recipient of the “Man of the Year” award.<br />
He is survived by his wife, sons, Thomas J. and his<br />
wife, Linda of <strong>St</strong>. <strong>James</strong>, <strong>NY</strong>; <strong>James</strong> (Barbara) of<br />
Bloomsburg; Joseph J. (Mariann) of Ann Arbor, MI;<br />
Jerry (Janet) of Gilbertsville; Daniel P. (Lisa) of Bath;<br />
daughter, Mary Christy of Bath with whom he<br />
resided; sister, Helen McCauliff (Gregory) of Dennisport,<br />
MA; and 11 grandchildren. Thomas was preceded<br />
in death by his sister Jane Dinan.<br />
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on November<br />
29, 2008 at Notre Dame Catholic Church,<br />
Bethlehem. Interment followed at Sacred Heart<br />
Cemetery, Bath.<br />

Andrew S. Eschbach, of Ridge L.I., passed away<br />
on November 23, 2008. Beloved husband of the late<br />
Lanie. Cherished father of Sharon (Patty), Drew<br />
(Jennifer), Christine (<strong>James</strong>), Sharon and Mark<br />
Hamilton. Loving grandpa of Jonathan, Nicole and<br />
Mark. Devoted brother of Marilyn, Joseph and<br />
Suellen.<br />

at <strong>St</strong>. <strong>James</strong> Episcopal Cemetery, <strong>St</strong>. <strong>James</strong>.<br />

Christopher P. O’Brien, life-long resident of <strong>St</strong>.<br />
<strong>James</strong>, passed away suddenly on November 27,<br />
2008. Cherished husband of Beth. Loving father of<br />
Hung, Tu, Erin, and Annie. Beloved brother of<br />
Patricia, Judy, Joe and Tom. Devoted brother-in-law<br />
of Jane, Barbara, Sharon, Susan and Timothy.<br />
Beloved uncle to many.<br />
