this group. Work on various art<br />
projects in a relaxed and informal<br />
atmosphere. Call the Library for<br />
supplies needed.<br />
DEFENSIVE DRIVING CLASSES<br />
The Smithtown Library offers<br />
two Defensive Driving classes in<br />
conjunction with the New York<br />
<strong>St</strong>ate Safety Program. After the<br />
successful completion of this<br />
course, attendees may receive a<br />
discount on their automobile<br />
insurance and point deduction<br />
from existing violations on their<br />
driver’s licenses.<br />
There is a fee of $35 (check<br />
only) which is non-refundable.<br />
Licensed drivers of all ages are<br />
eligible to participate in this<br />
course (under 50). Scheduled<br />
dates for the course at the Main<br />
Branch in SMITHTOWN are:<br />
Saturdays, 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.,<br />

An AARP Defensive Driving<br />
class will be held at three of the<br />
Smithtown Library branches on a<br />
rotating basis – Smithtown<br />
(January 20, 2009, 10 a.m.,<br />
April, July, October), Commack<br />
(February, May, August, November)<br />
and Nesconset (March, June,<br />
September, December). There is<br />
a fee of $10 (check or money<br />
order only) which is non-refundable<br />
for drivers 50+ years.<br />
