A Defcription of<br />

Water thrice upon your Head, and then ye fhall<br />

JO them, not for any thing in particular, but only<br />

in general, that they would grant you fuch things<br />

as they know to be neceffary for you, and return<br />

them thanks for the Favours ye have formerly<br />

received from them. And in the Night-time, at<br />

ye (hall worfhip the Moon and<br />

the other Five Stars, after the fame manner. For<br />

ye muft know, that the Sun is the rirft and molt<br />

excellent Creature which I have created to govern<br />

you, and to him I have given power of<br />

conferring Benefits upon you, according as you<br />

deferve well of me and him. The Moon I have<br />

plac'd in the next degree below him, and tha<br />

Ten Stars likewife in their proper places, as being<br />

inferior to the other two. But if ye negleft<br />

to worfhip them , I have given them power not<br />

only to keep back the good things they can beitow,<br />

but alfo to do you mifchief, by affll£ling<br />

your Bodies with grievous Difeafes, by deftroying<br />

the Fruits of your Ground , and poyfoning<br />

the Air with Feftilential Vapors : And therefore<br />

ye (hall account it your daily Duty on the common<br />

Days to worfhip and adore them, after the<br />

manner afore- prefcribed. Moreover, ye (hall obferve<br />

three Feltivals iji the Year, one to the honour<br />

of the Sun, another to the honour of the<br />

Moon , and a third to the honour of the Ten<br />

Stars. The firft fliall be in the fjrft Week of the<br />

fecond Month called Damen^ and (hall lall from<br />

the third until the ninth Day of the Week. The<br />

fecond (hall be in the firft Week of the fifth<br />

Month called Dattibes^ and (hall laft from the<br />

third unto the ninth Day of the Week. The<br />

third fhall bs in the third Week of the eighth<br />

Month
