Rwanda<br />

Activities<br />
SHORT TERM<br />
• Adopt national cervical cancer screening treatment and prevention policy standards<br />
and guidelines, and a five-year strategic plan.<br />
• Raise awareness and advocacy for cervical cancer prevention and treatment.<br />
• Build institutional and technical capacity at district and national referral hospitals.<br />
MEDIUM TERM<br />
• Primary prevention (immunization against HPV).<br />
• Secondary prevention (screening and treatment of precancerous lesions).<br />
• Establish reporting, monitoring, and evaluation of services provided at each facility,<br />
including AEFI surveillance and injection safety.<br />
• Palliative care.<br />
LONG TERM<br />
• Increase access to cervical precancer screening and treatment services by integrating<br />
them into the routine package of clinical services.<br />
• Monitoring and evaluation by conducting research that will inform program<br />
decision-making and improvement.<br />
