18. For all activities, joint or body braces/casts with<br />

exposed hard surfaces must be sufficiently covered<br />

with a soft material to help protect users and the<br />

facility.<br />

19. Spitting is not allowed except in appropriate<br />

receptacles located throughout the building.<br />

20. To reduce the risk of injury to users, stretching<br />

exercises involving the portable bleachers are not<br />

permitted. Please try to avoid shoe scuff marks on<br />

walls/support posts.<br />

21. In the Track Room, for safety reasons, players may<br />

not warm up with balls or other equipment on the<br />

track surface or area when in use by others.<br />

22. Balls and other equipment are not to be batted,<br />

punted, kicked, or thrown improperly in the vicinity<br />

of others, or especially near the activity area<br />

ceilings. Field goal kicking is restricted to the Turf<br />

Room center divider net’s marked target area.<br />

Punting is not permitted (except into an<br />

appropriate net) due to potential damage to<br />

light fixtures or skylights. Batting practice cannot<br />

be held outside of the batting cages unless special<br />

balls are used and PFH approval is given. Users<br />

can be held accountable for replacement and<br />

repair fees.<br />

23. “Dunking” basketballs, slapping backboards or<br />

hanging on rims or nets is not permitted. Serious<br />

or repeat offenders may be asked to leave the<br />

facility and face suspension of building privileges.<br />

24. Claiming a court or field: this applies during times<br />

when the particular room is open and not<br />

scheduled for an activity. A “first-come, first-serve”<br />

policy is in effect.<br />

25. Day pass for public use may be purchased at the<br />

Front Desk for $7 per person.<br />

<strong>Student</strong> <strong>Recreation</strong> <strong>Center</strong> (SRC)<br />

1. Participation in any area of the SRC is at the user’s<br />

own risk.<br />

2. To enter and exit the SRC facilty, please use the<br />

front doors only. Other exits are for emergency use<br />

only.<br />

3. No animals are permitted in the facility except for<br />

licensed guide/medical dogs, etc.<br />

4. All individuals entering the SRC for usage are<br />

required to maintain active SRC membership or<br />

purchase a day pass. Appropriate <strong>University</strong> issued<br />

photo ID’s for students, members, and guests are<br />

required to be scanned upon entrance.<br />

5. SRC Membership also includes limited access<br />

to the Perry Field House. Appropriate <strong>University</strong><br />

issued photo I.D.’s for students/members must be<br />

scanned at PFH Front Desk.<br />

6. After purchasing a membership, members may<br />

obtain a parking pass by taking the receipt of<br />

payment to <strong>University</strong> Parking Services.<br />

7. Non-student members must present their SRC<br />

Membership photo ID card that has been validated<br />

at the time of membership purchase. BGSU<br />

employees who are members must use their<br />

faculty/staff ID for swipe entry.<br />

8. To gain entrance into the facilities without a valid<br />

ID card, members are allowed to enter under the<br />

“Courtesy Pass” option one time per semester.<br />

Users who forget their <strong>University</strong> issued ID after<br />

the “Courtesy Pass” has been used may purchase<br />

a day pass for $7.<br />

9. Non-members who wish to purchase a day pass<br />

must show a photo ID and complete an informed<br />

consent form. Day Passes are available to anyone<br />

18 or older or children accompanied by a parent or<br />

guardian.<br />

10. Individuals with special physical entry needs may<br />

request entry assistance at the SRC Front Desk.<br />

11. <strong>Recreation</strong> and Wellness staff reserve the right to<br />

refuse admittance or to request individuals to leave<br />

the facility.<br />

12. One parent/guardian is recommended for every<br />

four children using the facility. Same room<br />

supervision is required for children under 16. No<br />

day care facilities are available. Please see each<br />

area for age requirements on the following page.<br />

13. Children 4 years and older entering the general<br />

locker rooms must use locker room of their gender.<br />

The SRC does have family locker rooms that are<br />

available as well. Please direct questions to a<br />

member of the <strong>Recreation</strong> and Wellness staff.<br />

14. Food/beverage items may be purchased at vending<br />

locations and at the Pro Shop.<br />

15. The following are prohibited: martial arts weapons<br />

and/or sparring (boxing, martial arts, wrestling/<br />

grappling), floor hockey, inline hockey, smoking,<br />

smokeless tobacco, and alcoholic beverages.<br />

16. Signs/banners are not permitted anywhere in the<br />

SRC without staff approval.<br />

17. The use of personal televisions, stereos, and radio<br />

systems by patrons is prohibited (except when<br />

used with headphones) or unless approval is<br />

granted by the professional staff.<br />

18. The use of recording devices (still cameras, video<br />

cameras, etc.) is prohibited in the SRC unless<br />

previously approved. (Must be approved at the<br />

Front Desk.)<br />

19. Cell phones are prohibited in locker rooms. Cell<br />

phones are allowed in other areas unless deemed an<br />

issue of patron safety, noise, or privacy.<br />

20. The use of abusive and/or profane language is<br />

offensive. The SRC staff reserves the right to refuse<br />

admittance to the facility, or instruct individuals to<br />

leave the facility for such behavior.<br />

21. No storage of personal belongings is permitted at<br />

any SRC staffed location. Coin-operated lockers<br />

by the basketball courts are available for patron use.<br />

See Locker Room policies for information on longterm<br />

locker rentals and day use locker availability.<br />

22. The SRC and the <strong>University</strong> is not responsible<br />

for lost or stolen items. Please do not bring<br />

valuables into the SRC. In case of a lost or stolen<br />

belonging, patrons are encouraged to complete an<br />

Incident Report Form at the Pro Shop or SRC<br />

Front Desk and report the incident to the Campus<br />

Police 419.372.2346.<br />

22. All SRC facilities and equipment are to be used for<br />

their intended purpose. Modification of equipment<br />

and/or facilities is prohibited without staff approval.<br />

No helium balloons, confetti, glitter, masking tape<br />

on floors, “icicles” or similar materials may be used<br />

in the facility without professional staff approval.<br />

23. No outdoor sports may be played in the SRC<br />

including baseball, football, rugby, lacrosse, and<br />

Frisbee. Indoor Soccer is an exception and is<br />

permitted in the proper area. Space is available in<br />

the Perry Field House for other outdoor sports.<br />

24. Sports equipment such as basketballs, volleyballs,<br />

racquets, ping pong paddles, and action balls to be<br />

used in the pools, etc. are available to check out for<br />

same day use. To check out equipment at the SRC,<br />

users are required to present and deposit a photo ID<br />

at the Pro Shop. Individuals checking out equipment<br />

are held responsible and must pay for equipment<br />

that is lost, stolen, or damaged. ID’s are not returned<br />

until payment is arranged.<br />

25. Participants are required to wear appropriate<br />

athletic attire such as t-shirts, warm-up suits, or<br />

gym attire. Street clothing can be dangerous and<br />

confining when exercising. Patron’s clothing is<br />

required to cover their mid-section while in the<br />

Weight Room and Gallery (i.e. tank tops and<br />

sleeveless shirts are allowed; jogging bras are not).<br />

26. Spitting is not allowed, except in appropriate<br />

28. Court reservations can be requested through the<br />

SRC Front Desk at 419.372.2000, up to 24 hours in<br />

advance. 10-minute courtesy holds are offered on<br />

court reservations. After that time, the reservation<br />

is voided and the space becomes available for general<br />

recreation. Claiming a court applies during times<br />

when the particular court/room is open and not<br />

scheduled for an activity. A “first-come, first-serve”<br />

policy is in effect.<br />

29. The BGSU <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Recreation</strong> <strong>Center</strong> staff reserves<br />

the right to interpret <strong>Center</strong> regulations in its best<br />

interest.<br />

30. If a false ID is presented, the card may be<br />

confiscated and/or submitted to the <strong>University</strong><br />

Police. In addition, the offender will likely be referred<br />

to the Dean of <strong>Student</strong>s to face disciplinary<br />

sanctions.<br />

<strong>Student</strong> <strong>Recreation</strong> <strong>Center</strong> – Locker Room<br />

Policies<br />

Day Lockers:<br />

1. A limited number of day lockers are available (day<br />

use lock and towel are not provided).<br />

2. Day lockers must be emptied by closing each<br />

evening.<br />

3. Contents left in a day locker overnight are removed<br />

and a $10.00 service charge is assessed to retrieve<br />

personal belongings.<br />

4. To secure personal belongings, patrons utilizing a<br />

day locker can:<br />

(a) Bring their own lock.<br />

(b) Utilize a coin-operated locker (coin lockers<br />

located on the main and sub-basement levels<br />

of the facility).<br />

5. The SRC is not responsible for lost or stolen<br />

belongings. It is recommended that patrons do not<br />

leave valuable belongings in any lockers.<br />

Half and Full Size Lockers:<br />

1. Half and full size lockers can be rented any time for<br />

up to a year. There are a limited number of half and<br />

full size lockers available for rent.<br />

Half size locker fees: Full size locker fees:<br />

Academic Year $30 Academic Year $40<br />

Full Year $40 Full Year $50<br />

**No prorating or refunds.<br />

2. Patrons that rent a half or full size locker receive the<br />

towel exchange service.<br />

3. One towel is provided per locker membership.<br />

4. Patrons are responsible for securing their towel. If a<br />

logo towel is lost or stolen, patrons can purchase a<br />

replacement towel for $5. (If a patron decides not<br />

to purchase a replacement towel, he/she no longer<br />

receives the towel exchange service.)<br />

5. Only towels with the department logo are eligible for<br />

exchange.<br />

6. Expiration of the towel exchange service coincides<br />

with the expiration date of locker membership.<br />

7. The SRC is not responsible for the loss of personal<br />

locks; therefore, it is recommended to use the SRC<br />

issued combination lock for locker rentals.<br />

8. If locker is not emptied by the last day of the rental<br />

period, all contents are removed and a $10.00<br />

service charge is assessed to retrieve personal<br />

belongings. Items removed from lockers are stored<br />

for 90 days and then donated to a local charity.<br />

Locker Rental Expiration/Renewal Procedures:<br />

At the conclusion of the locker rental period, patrons have<br />

the ability to discontinue or renew their locker membership.<br />

To Renew a Locker Membership:<br />

Locker renewal reminders and renewal information are<br />

posted approximately 2-3 weeks prior to the conclusion of<br />

locker memberships.<br />

1. All locker renewal memberships are required to be<br />

completed in person at the Pro Shop within the<br />

posted timeframe.<br />

2. It is the patron’s responsibility to monitor the<br />

expiration date of their locker membership.<br />

To Discontinue a Locker Membership:<br />

1. Remove all personal belongings from the locker.<br />

2. Secure the combination lock to the latch of the<br />

locker door.<br />

3. Return department logo towel to the Pro Shop<br />

employee.<br />

4. Sign locker rental expiration check-out spreadsheet.<br />

5. If either the combination lock or department towel is<br />

not returned, the replacement fee below is assessed:<br />

Department Logo Towel: $15<br />

Combination Lock: $10<br />

Group Exercise Class Policies<br />

• All participants must be at least 16 years of age or<br />

older and purchase a group exercise pass. A valid<br />

<strong>Bowling</strong> <strong>Green</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong> or <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Recreation</strong><br />

<strong>Center</strong> ID must be presented at the start of each class.<br />

Patrons will not be admitted without this ID card.<br />

• Before beginning, it is strongly recommended that<br />

you have a physical examination to determine your<br />

fitness level. Programs may be strenuous.<br />

• Participation is based on a first-come, first-serve<br />

basis. The instructor reserves the right to determine<br />

class minimums and maximums based on<br />

equipment and facility space.<br />

• For safety reasons, it is strongly recommended that<br />

participants attend entire class sessions for<br />

appropriate warm-up and cool down.<br />

• Class schedules are subject to change or<br />

cancellation. Revised schedule are posted when<br />

changes have been made.<br />

• In the case of any incident or physical accident that<br />

may occur in a group exercise session, staff personnel<br />

is required to have participant(s) involved fill out an<br />

Incident and/or Accident Report Form to be kept on<br />

file with the Department of <strong>Recreation</strong> and Wellness.<br />

• Appropriate workout attire is required at all times.<br />

• Equipment (hand weights, bands, steps, etc.) utilized<br />

during class must be returned and may not be taken<br />

out of the group fitness area for individual use.<br />

• It is highly recommended that participants bring<br />

water in a closed plastic container to class. Water is<br />

the only drink permitted in group exercise classes.<br />

• All fitness passes are non-refundable and nontransferable.<br />
