Emergency Procedures<br />

• Call in the appropriate Emergency Services - Dial 000.<br />

• Evacuate building as instructed or if after hours notify other occupants <strong>of</strong> the<br />

building to evacuate by the nearest safest exit if safe to do so.<br />

• Move quietly and calmly to nominated assembly area.<br />

• Notify Campus Emergency Controller <strong>of</strong> situation.<br />

On being advised <strong>of</strong> a building evacuation:<br />

1. “EVACUATE”<br />

2. Comply with Building Emergency Controller/Warden’s directions.<br />

3. Exit building via nearest, safe Emergency Exit.<br />

NOTE: You may need to break the ‘Break Glass Alarm’ to open the door.<br />

4. Assist persons with disabilities.<br />

5. Proceed to Emergency Assembly Area and remain there until advised by Warden or<br />

Emergency Services.<br />

When requesting assistance you should provide the following information:<br />

1. The nature <strong>of</strong> the problem.<br />

2. The type <strong>of</strong> assistance you think is required.<br />

3. The precise location <strong>of</strong> the problem (eg; building, car park).<br />

4. Your name and the names <strong>of</strong> other people involved.<br />

5. Finally; Complete neccessary evacuation and incident report forms and hand back to<br />

UoM administration contact at your earliest convenience within 24 hours.<br />
