during the week before ride. If<br />

ROUTE. Depart from Elm Creek Park<br />

Chalet, 12400 James Deane Parkway,<br />

Maple Grove, 55369. Starting from<br />

the Elm Creek Park Chalet, we'll head<br />

east on the North Hennepin Corridor<br />

bike trail to the Coon Rapids Dam,<br />

cross over and head south on bike<br />

trails following the Mississippi River to<br />

Webber Parkway where we'll hook up<br />

with bike trails along Victory<br />

Memorial Parkway west and south to<br />

Theodore Wirth Park. Then we'll<br />

follow the Luce Line trail west to<br />

Medicine Lake Park, north to French<br />

Regional Park and, eventually, Fish<br />

Lake Park. From there, we'll follow<br />

bike trails which lead us eventually<br />

back to our starting point. <strong>Ride</strong> is<br />

mainly on bike trails and passes<br />

through five parks, by three lakes, and<br />

the Mississippi River. There are many<br />

opportunities for water and rest<br />

the northeastern roads of St. Croix<br />

County to Bass Lake Cheese Factory in<br />

Somerset. This is a new route which<br />

will have gently rolling hills. This<br />

beautiful ride will encompass<br />

or 600k route. The 200k ride is a<br />

pleasant tour through Stewartville,<br />

Chatfield, Wykoff and back. The 300k<br />

continues on to Rushford and<br />

Harmony, the 400k continues to<br />

Decorah, Iowa, and the 600k goes on<br />

to Elkader, Iowa before returning to<br />

Rochester. There is a sleepover stop<br />

for the 600k and a bag drop. <strong>Ride</strong>rs<br />

must be <strong>TCBC</strong> Members. This is a<br />

VISTAS AFTERSHOCK. Depart from<br />

Thompson's West End Park in<br />

Washburn, WI. That's .3 mi. south of<br />

Hwy. 13 on 8th Ave. W. Go to the<br />

gravel lot by the lake. The spine of this<br />

ride will be a 33 mile trip to Bayfield<br />

with many fine views of Lake Superior<br />

and the Apostle Islands. We'll climb<br />

high above town through the apple<br />

orchards there and then descend for a<br />

visit to Main Street. Optional spurs<br />

will include a ferry ride ($18) to<br />

Madeline Island and a 14 mile toot out<br />

to Big Bay Park or a 22 mile jaunt to<br />

Little Sand Bay, a part of the Apostle<br />

39th Avenue South, Minneapolis. Park<br />

at intersection of East 28th Street and<br />

39th Avenue South. Just south of<br />

Greenway at 39th Avenue. This is a<br />

very special ride to dedicate a bench in<br />

honor of Herb Schultz. All three levels<br />

B, B/C and C rides will start in Brackett<br />

Park at 10:00 AM and then stop at the<br />

bench for the dedication at 12:30 and<br />

return to Brackett Park for a picnic at<br />

1:00 PM. Your RSVP is needed for the<br />

$5.00 per person payable at the picnic.<br />

ride up Lexington to Rice Creek<br />

Regional Trail Park in Shoreview.<br />

After passing through the park we<br />

will follow the trail through the old<br />

Army Ammunition Plant. After a<br />

break at McDonalds in Mounds View<br />

for the leader's senior coffee we will<br />

ride the Rice Creek Regional West<br />

Trail and finally make our way back<br />

past Long Lake, Valentine Lake and<br />
