Join us for a 39/43 mile ride in<br />

Owatonna farm country. We may see<br />

wildlife. Ducks and geese nesting.<br />

I and County Road 10 (not to be<br />

confused with US 10). Start your<br />

Wednesday on the north end of town<br />

with an invigorating ride past LOTSA<br />

lakes. New for 2011 is a metric<br />

century option with two new lakes!<br />

The routes begin east and north<br />

through the Rice Creek chain of lakes,<br />

and then turn south & east towards<br />

Bald Eagle, White Bear, Jane and De<br />

Montreville lakes before returning to<br />

CARS Bike Shop via Vadnais, Owasso,<br />

Valentine & Long lakes. Park in the<br />

CARS Bike Shop lot. Self sufficient B<br />

riders are most welcome. Excellent<br />

cue sheets and maps are available at<br />

the ride, or beforehand at www.<br />

bobswebplace.org . Restrooms<br />

available at ride start - Burger King,<br />

SuperAmerica & Caribou Coffee. If<br />

Taste of Scandinavia, 2900 Rice Street,<br />

1/2 mile north of County Road C. We<br />

will ride from Little Canada as far<br />

south as the Mississippi River and<br />

then up Battle Creek and through<br />

Indian Mounds Park. The return is up<br />

Bruce Vento Trail with a loop around<br />

Lake Phalen. Be prepared for a few<br />

GROUP MAPLESS. Depart from<br />

Midtown Bike Center - Freewheel - On<br />

the Midtown Greenway, 10th Ave<br />

South and 29th Street. Various routes<br />

and distance as the days grow longer.<br />

Some are flat and scenic some are<br />

hilly with multiple turns. but none are<br />

boring and neither is the group. We<br />

ride at an "A" pace and will work to<br />

keep the group together. Wind and<br />

weather dictate distance and route.<br />

Come prepared with a bike in good<br />

working condition and you will enjoy<br />

the workout you receive. All "A" riders<br />

welcome. Contact leader if you are<br />

unsure about route, pace or group<br />

riding technique, we will make sure<br />

you have a good time and won't forget<br />

CANNON. Depart from Welch Village<br />

Trailhead (Goodhue County 7, three<br />

miles south of Hwy. 61). We'll ride two<br />

beautiful trails, the Cannon River<br />

Valley trail and the new Hay Creek<br />

trail. We’ll start off with a round-trip<br />

to Cannon Falls, then on to Red Wing<br />

and continue to the end of the Hay<br />

Creek Trail (Goodhue Pioneer Trail),<br />

then back to Welch via Levee Park, for<br />

57 miles. For the optional 20 miles<br />

extra, choose between a round trip to<br />

rides. Some routes can have multiple<br />

turns, hills, traffic and some just flat<br />

out flat. But NONE have boring ride<br />

leaders... Routes are designed to take<br />

you on different combination of roads<br />

and trails in the metro area each week<br />

and rarely repeating the same route,<br />

unless it is the only map I have on<br />
