A VISIT TO DENMARK
The students of our school engaged in the AEC-NET Global projects were invited to Herfoelge School, Herfoelge,
Denmark for a Student Exchange Programme. A delegation of 10 students of class X escorted by their teacher coordinator
Ms. Anjali Handa, visited Herfoelge and Copenhagen from 1 October 2012 to 8 October 2012. The main aim of
the exchange programme was to create awareness about inter-cultural similarities and differences between Asian and
European countries, thereby leading to a better understanding and appreciation of one's own culture and nation. This was
achieved through various activities, interactive sessions and creative workshops held at Herfoelge School under the
assistance of the Danish teacher coordinator, Ms. Helene Tind. Our students also learnt about the teaching and learning
methodologies in European schools. The homestay programme of the Indian students with Danish families taught our
students tolerance and discipline, and further developed a sense of mutual respect. The students also got an opportunity
to visit the famous Rosenborg Castle and Treasury, the Arch Museum and Cafe Vivaldi. A canal tour of Copenhagen by
boat was a truly memorable experience. The Exchange programme thus helped in strengthening our bonds with the
people of Denmark.
