They almost can’t roll out the dumplings
fast enough at this hole-in-the-wall
breakfast shop on the outskirts of
Shanghai. Miss Ryo, however, pinches
the small bundles of paper-thin dough
filled with ground pork at the speed of
light and serves them in a bowl of hot
broth with rice vinegar and sliced ginger.
Wolf them down at one of the makeshift
tables outside if you can snatch a
stool.
