Annual Monitoring Report 2007 4 Local Development Framework - Indicators 22 Core Output Indicator 1e - Losses of Employment Land in (a) Employment and Regeneration areas and (b) Local Authority Areas 4.17 Whilst the Borough Local Plan includes Town Centre Regeneration Areas, it does not have any specific employment regeneration areas. It does, however, include Policy I4 which seeks to prevent the loss of employment sites in certain areas. Losses for 2006/2007 are in Table 4.6 ‘Loss of Employment Land in the Local Authority Area’. The metres squared refers to buildings, whereas the Ha refers to the whole site. The losses, in terms of buildings recorded for this monitoring period, are over five-fold from the previous monitoring period. Losses have occurred in conversions to residential uses and to D-class uses, for a children's play centre and for education / nursery establishments. The three sites where this has occurred are small scale, isolated, historical units surrounded by residential development within the Scarborough Urban Area. The amount lost is shown in Table 4.7 ‘Loss of Employment Land for Residential Uses (metres squared)’.
