In this record we show eleven sons and three daughters born to William and wives and we believe there was another son, but we do not have any credible evidence; therefore, we omitted him from this record. We prove their respective spouses, years of birth and death, place of birth and death, and any Key children that we believe conflated and or situated in the wrong descendant line. We had one significant error in the two books published, Boone Volume I and Boone Volume II. Those errors corrected herein this record. We attributed the wrong Edward Bryan to this Captain William Bryan. • Proof: 12 Dec 1626, London, , Greater London, England. To further substantiate and document the historical Pedigree and Family Record of this family the following proofs used to confront and challenge the existing Family Record and Purported Pedigree of this William Bryan, by Bryan Family researchers since 1915 and publication of the book who married twice, and had fourteen children by his two wives. Sir William Smith was born circa 1550. He was the son of George Smith and Isabella (?). He married Bridget Fleetwood, daughter of Thomas Fleetwood, in 1590. He died in December 12, 1626. Sir William Smith gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the Army in Ireland. He held the office of Sheriff of Essex from 1615 to 1616. He lived at Hill Hall, Theydon Mount, Essex England. Sir William Smith died with a will in place written the day he died December 12, 1626, and he identified his four children born to him and his wife Bridget Fleetwood in his will … as follows…. 1. Sir William Smith II, died March 5, 1631 He married, firstly, Helen Conway, daughter of Edward Conway, 1st Viscount Conway of Conway Castle, on 9 April 1627.1 He married, secondly, Anne Croft, daughter of Edward Croft, in 1631.1 He died on 5 March 1631. Sir William Smith lived at Ankerwycke Priory, Wraysbury, Buckinghamshire England. 2. Elizabeth Smith - She married Sir William Spring on 1 November 1610. 3. Bridget Smith - She married Sir Robert Jocelyn, son of Richard Jocelyn and Joyce Atkinson. She died circa January 1662/63. She was buried on 24 January 1662/63. 4. Sir Thomas Smith, 1 st Bart. - He was the son of Sir William Smith and Bridget Fleetwood. He married, firstly, Joan Altham, daughter of Sir Edward Altham and Joan Leventhorpe, before 1633. He married, secondly, Hon. Beatrice Annesley, daughter of Francis Annesley, 1st Viscount Valentia and Dorothy Philipps, after 1664. He died on 5 May 1668. He was buried on 14 May 1668 at Theydon Mount, Essex, England. His will (dated 30 April 1668) was probated on 11 June 1668. Sir Thomas Smith, 1st Bt. was admitted to Gray's Inn on 5 February 1619/20. He inherited the estate of Hill Hall from his nephew, Edward Smith. He was Lord of the manor of Thaxted, and owned Horham Hall in Thaxted. He was created 1st Baronet Smith, of Hill Hall, co. Essex England on 28 November 1661. He held the office of High Sheriff of Essex from 1663 to 1664. He had ten other children by his first wife. 6
Sir Francis Bryan died February 2, 1550 at Clonmel Ireland, and married Lady Joan Fitzgerald before 28 Aug 1548, and had two children by her, but neither survived their father. Sources: 1. Catherine was born in 1594 in Tredgar, , Monmouthshire, Wales and died before 26 Nov 1634 in Milltown Malbay, Clare, Munster, Ireland. David married Alice Needham (d. Bef 3 Feb 1708) in 1649 in Shavington, , Shropshire, England. 9 F iii. Catherine Bryan was born in 1624 in Milltown Malbay, Clare, Munster, Ireland, was christened on 11 Dec 1624 in Milltown Malbay, Clare, Munster, Ireland, and died in 1714 in Norfolk County, Virginia at age 90.
