County, Virginia and died after 1715 in Nansemond County, Virginia.
Noted events in his life were:
• Information: 1651, Gloucester County, Virginia. Many researchers show Francis as a
knight, which he was not. The key for researchers to properly validate this man was via
his wife, Susan Brinker, a lady purportedly born in Denmark. There is no evidence that
supports the bold errant conclusions made by prior researchers that Francis presence in
Denmark can be validated except whenever his ship landed there, if it ever did. We
could not prove any estate records for a Francis Bryan in Ireland, England, or America.
Francis was a sailor, but he was not certified as a Mate, Master or Ship Captain.
Francis was the only child born to William and Catherine in Virginia 1651.
When Francis came of age 18 in 1669 he enlisted in the Royal Navy. With him being
the lastborn son of eleven, his chance of an inheritance of significant value was
certainly not good. The last voyage he made was aboard the … Dover Prize … a 32
gun fifth-rate and captured French man-o-war, taken as a prize in 1693, and then
identified by the French as the … Legere (in English means … Light). She was refitted
and renamed the … HMS Dover Prize. She was retired after she landed in Virginia
after August 3, 1698, stripped of her weaponry, and resold. There is no proof Francis
ever married (not likely even for an Ensign), while serving in the Royal Navy. Francis
was credited for the full Thirty years service in the Royal Navy. We have no doubt that
Francis married a lady named Susan, but her surname was not Brinker, it was Burchett,
and she was not born in Sweden, she was born in Virginia. Please study the two proofs
dated April 20, 1684, and October 20, 1689 … pay particular attention to the latter
proof, and examine the two names closely for the other person identified with Sarah …
is most likely the origin of the surname that magically become … Brinker … a fabled
lady purportedly born in Sweden, but surely born in Virginia…. For you see, that
man, John Blanker, married Jane Houseman as his wife on October 16,
1674 at Allhallows London Wall Parish in London. John's father was an employee and
an associate of the famed Perry & Company of London, purveyors of munitions,
armament, and military ordinance to the Crown. John established a brand new storage
facility at Elizabeth City during his yearlong stint in Virginia.
