Why Need Accreditation?<br />
Governed by the REGISTRATION OF<br />
ENGINEERS ACT 1967 (Revised 2002)<br />
• Legally, no person is allowed to practice unless he/she is<br />
a pr<strong>of</strong>essional engineer (<strong>of</strong> one can do it in private<br />
sector).<br />
• Pr<strong>of</strong>essional engineer may use “Ir” before his name OR<br />
“PEng” after his name.<br />
• Graduate engineers to register with BEM before taking<br />
up employment as an engineer.<br />
