Volunteer50<br />

As part of the Volunteer50 initiative, alumni<br />

logged 5,145 hours accounting for 10 percent of<br />

the overall campus goal of 50,000 hours set by<br />

the Chancellor.<br />

<strong><strong>UC</strong>SD</strong> Day at the Padres<br />

<strong><strong>UC</strong>SD</strong> Day at the Padres brought out 2,000<br />

<strong>UC</strong> San Diego alumni, staff, faculty and students<br />

for an afternoon at the ballpark. Chancellor<br />

Marye Anne Fox delivered the honorary first pitch<br />

and a special alumni video, recognizing the University’s<br />

50th Anniversary, played on the jumboscreen.<br />

Grad Nite<br />

More than 1,500 students attended Grad Nite at<br />

the Bookstore in April and helped boost sales by<br />

over 50 percent from the previous year. Triton<br />

Pride Pack incentives focused on career tools to<br />

help new grads find jobs.<br />

<strong><strong>UC</strong>SD</strong> at 50:<br />

A Record Achievement<br />

More than 250 alumni and friends partied like<br />

rock stars and got backstage access to the<br />

GRAMMY Museum for a night of live music by<br />

Rupa & the April Fishes (led by singer and <strong><strong>UC</strong>SD</strong><br />

alumna Rupa Marya, Revelle ’97) and food by<br />

celebrity chef, Wolfgang Puck. The event was cohosted<br />

by <strong><strong>UC</strong>SD</strong> <strong>Alumni</strong> and the Entertainment<br />

Alliance.<br />
