Webinar Series
Now in its second year, the twice-monthly webinar series brings
lifelong learning opportunities directly to alumni, no matter where
they live. This year, 1,040 alumni from 32 states and 11 countries
participated in 17 webinars with topics ranging from networking and
public speaking to health care reform to balancing personal health
and wellness. All topics are presented by expert UC San Diego alumni
or affiliates.
Social Media
UC San Diego alumni “like” us, they really do! Our social
media engagement continues to grow with 6,177 alumni
and friends who like us on Facebook, a 36 percent
increase. In addition, the UCSD Alumni LinkedIn group
continues to flourish with over 10,000 alumni who are interested
in career and professional networking.
Campus Loop E-Newsletter
and Regional Blasts
A revitalized e-newsletter and more affinity-based content has
helped increase UCSD Alumni’s virtual reach via Campus
Loop. With an average open rate of 18-26 percent, depending
on the subject matter, the e-newsletter is sent to 64,000 alumni
with good email addresses. The e-newsletter highlights timely
campus and alumni news, while promoting valuable programs,
services and regional events. In addition to the division-specific
edition for the Jacobs School of Engineering, UCSD Alumni launched another
edition for Arts & Humanities alumni.
Online Community
The UCSD Alumni website, alumni.ucsd.edu, is a portal to the greater
alumni community. The website received 181,612 visits (111,958
unique visitors) with 769,560 page views, a 200 percent increase
from the previous year. Fifty-nine percent are new visitors to the site.
In one year, website traffic surged by 160 percent, with 7,678 new
alumni profile activations.
