OUR RECORD | Award winning cover for 2010
$3.00
One of the great features of the Wrest Point State
League RECORD has been the weekly covers, which have
highlighted not only the games and any key promotions
happening, but also some great photographs of players
and coaches in action.
this weeks games
In selecting the photo or creating a montage that
will be used each week we have aimed to feature
an image that conveys a message or reinforces
the best attributes of Tasmanian state level
football. The best media photos are those that
can tell a story in one image. We believe that this
has been achieved many times throughout 2010.
Also, with the proliferation of digital photography
we always welcome contributions from Club
supporters in our search for the next cover
picture. In this regard we wish to make special
mention of the efforts of Launceston Football
Club’s volunteer, Steve Youd. Without Steve’s
support we would not have been able to achieve
the consistently high quality.
Finally, the RECORD has also determined to seek
the advice of a panel of experts in respect of the
‘Best Cover’ for 2010. The decision was difficult
and came down to 5 standouts, including the 2
montages for Week 1 and the Grand Final, 2 great
action shots in Rounds 16 and 17 and the winner
being the Round 12 shot of a perfectly framed
Mathew Armstrong addressing the ultimately
victorious Tasmanian U18 team at Aurora
Stadium. The performance at this coach’s huddle
shows intent and passion etched on each face as
befits every game of football at state level.
