6.3 The adjustment<br />

The actual adjustment procedure consisted of creating homogeneous adjustment classes with similar<br />

coverage rates within province – based on geography type, population group, sex, and age group – and<br />

calculating a common population, undercount rate, and adjustment factor, for each class separately. The<br />

national adjusted population was obtained by summing the adjusted classes. Only the population within<br />

the scope of the <strong>PES</strong> received adjustment factors. The totals for the balance of population (namely,<br />

people living in collective living quarters other than hostels, the homeless on the street, and those living<br />

in out-of-scope EAs) were not adjusted (see Sections 5.5 and 5.6).<br />
