Trving Rust has been named buyer and booker<br />

for Leon Theatres, succeeding Harold<br />

Brooks who resigned to join Lester Dollison.<br />

Rust was a booker and buyer for Jefferson<br />

Amusement Co. . Browning, MGM,<br />

and E. B. Moneyhun were married in Las<br />

Cruces, N.M.. last week while Peggy was on<br />

vacation . United Theatres will<br />

hold its annual convention November 10, 11.<br />

on Southwestern avenue; Ed Wilson is at<br />

home, relaxing and, with all, very cheerful;<br />

S. L. Oakley is recuperating at his home in<br />

Beaumont, and Jack Zern seems to be doing<br />

well after entering Baylor hospital.<br />

John Q. Adams, Interstate executive, is now<br />

Admiral Adams of the Texas navy. Brig. Gen.<br />

Paul Wakefield conferred the honorary title.<br />

to a bad leg condition, went to Baylor<br />

Leroy Bickel, MGM, had good attendance<br />

at two tradescreenings recently. "Take the<br />

High Ground!" which will have its w'orld<br />

premiere in El Paso soon, was screened at the<br />

P^alace September 8 at 9:30 a.m., and "Mogambo"<br />

was screened in the same theatre on<br />

September 14. Coffee and doughnuts were<br />

KRLD-TV, visited his son and daughterin-law<br />

Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Rembert jr. in<br />

Phoenix, Ariz. Rembert jr. is an MPA representative.<br />

The Mountaineer Drive-la, Mineral Wells,<br />

owned by T. L. Ritchie, has been closed temporarily<br />

for repairs.<br />

Scouts Get $600 for Polio<br />

HOUSTON—Houston Cub Scouts took up<br />

some S600 in audience collections at the<br />

Trail Drive-In here to aid the Gonzales<br />

Warm Springs Foundation to fight polio, according<br />

to Manager T. J. Cheney.<br />
