The UNYP academic advising program is the
primary resource for undergraduate
students in assisting you with your
educational plans. While you are ultimately
responsible for seeking out and meeting
degree requirements, the UNYP professional
advising staff conveys accurate policy and
procedural information and provides
meaningful advisor-advisee interactions that
build upon each student's unique strengths
in order to assist them in their decisionmaking
and promote progress toward their
degree.
Career advising for students
UNYP is always thinking of ways to help its
students gain professional experience in
addition to classroom training. UNYP
currently maintains an internship program in
conjunction with Empire State College, where
students may choose to work part-time at a
local company for course credit in their senior
year. UNYP hosts periodic business seminars
on campus, where company representatives
come and discuss their business or a related
topic. Also, UNYP holds a "Career Day,"
where students can engage with recruiters
from local companies and learn more about
specific jobs. These events are a great
resource for professional networking.
