Sonomatic is the market leader in the development and provision<br />

of ultrasonic inspection services and products serving the oil and<br />

gas, power generation and defence sectors.<br />

Sonomatic is a specialist supplier to the offshore industry for more<br />

than 25 years, for example pioneering the use of techniques such as<br />

Time of Flight Diffraction (TOFD) and Corrosion Mapping, providing<br />

independent pigging verification of upstream oil and gas pipelines.<br />

In 2009, Sonomatic was assessed against internationally-recognised<br />

standards to gain certification from the United Kingdom Accreditation<br />

Service (<strong>UK</strong>AS) and now accredited as a Type A inspection body<br />

in accordance with ISO/IEC 17020:1998 after demonstrating the<br />

necessary competence, impartiality and capability to provide ‘third<br />

party’ services.<br />

Sonomatic moved into its new flagship facility in Aberdeen’s Bridge of<br />

Don, Science and Technology Park in 2009 and extended the offices<br />

and workshop space by over 50% in 2012.<br />

Specialist <strong>Subsea</strong> Services (S3) is an established name in the<br />

offshore subsea sector which comes with a strong lineage of<br />

experience, offering turnkey survey, ROV and intervention services<br />

to the oil and gas, renewable and telecom industries. It combines<br />

some of the most experienced and knowledgeable personnel in the<br />

business.<br />

Headquartered in Aberdeen, Scotland, S3 has the backing of the Reef<br />

<strong>Subsea</strong> Group. Through the Reef <strong>Subsea</strong> Group and its global network<br />

and S3’s subsidiary company in Luanda, Angola, S3 has access to<br />

global facilities and resources to ensure it can fully support and service<br />

an international client base.<br />

Following its inception, S3 has been involved in numerous and varied<br />

offshore projects in the United Kingdom, Europe and on a global basis.<br />

Through Caledonian Geotech, S3 has enhanced its further penetration<br />

into the renewable sector and full subsea inspection capability in<br />

regards to oil and gas pipelines and shore approaches.<br />

Sonomatic’s head office is in Warrington, Cheshire with further bases<br />

in Perth, Western Australia, Abu Dhabi, Johannesburg and Secunda in<br />

South Africa and Charlotte in North Carolina in USA.<br />
