When planning the installation, take the following site requirements<br />

atmospheres. Do NOT install in a hazardous/flammable atmosphere<br />

The <strong>AIS</strong> unit must be fitted in a location where it is not likely to be<br />
stepped on or tripped over, and which:<br />

• Is close enough to allow connection to the vessel’s VHF with the<br />
3 ft (1 m) RF cable supplied.<br />

• Is at least 3 ft (1 m) from an engine, compass or any magnetic<br />
device.<br />
• Has at least 6 in (100 mm) of clear space below, to allow access<br />
for cabling and adequate cable bends.<br />

Mounting<br />
Fitting the <strong>AIS</strong> unit<br />
Note: To ensure water resistance the unit must be mounted<br />
