Fees and Charges<br />
The College charges an enrolment fee based on<br />
the maximum contact hours for the enrolled<br />

Course Structure<br />
Students are required to complete Stage 1 to<br />
obtain the Certificate in General Insurance and<br />
Stages 1 and 2 to obtain the Advanced Certificate<br />
in General Insurance. Stage 1 and 2 comprise 9<br />

Course Aims<br />
To prepare middle managers and intending<br />
middle managers with knowledge, skills and<br />
attitudes to direct the managerial functions <strong>of</strong><br />
planning, leading, organising and controlling in<br />
a small business or medium to large scale<br />
organisation.<br />
Entrance Requirements<br />
The normal pre-requisite for entry into this<br />
course is the satisfactory completion <strong>of</strong> an<br />
approved course <strong>of</strong> study at Year 12 and at least<br />
2 years <strong>of</strong> industrial experience. Persons<br />
considered to be sufficiently mature and with<br />
relevant industrial experience, may be admitted<br />
without meeting the Year 12 requirement.<br />
Course Duration and Mode <strong>of</strong> Study<br />
The program consists <strong>of</strong> 7 semester units and 1<br />
two semester unit which will normally be<br />
completed over six months full-time or two years<br />
part-time basis. The College year is divided into<br />
two semesters, each <strong>of</strong> approximately 17 weeks.<br />
Attendance <strong>of</strong> 20 hours per week for full-time<br />
students or 6 hours per week for part-time<br />
stutlents is usual.<br />
Employment Prospects<br />
Industry and commerce report a shortage <strong>of</strong><br />
management graduates at this time. It is<br />
anticipated that this shortage will continue into<br />
the 1990's as industry attempts to cope with<br />
structural changes being imposed on it by federal<br />
and state governments.<br />
Industry Recognition<br />
Students and graduates will be able to register<br />
with the Australia Institute <strong>of</strong> Management (AIM).<br />
The course is favourably supported by other<br />
pr<strong>of</strong>essional bodies such as the Australian Society<br />
<strong>of</strong> Accountants and the National Institute <strong>of</strong><br />
Accountants.
