Course Aims<br />

To improve the quality <strong>of</strong> middle management in<br />

the Credit Industry. To provide training and<br />

qualifications to persons currently employed in<br />

the Credit Industry.<br />

Who Should Enrol?<br />

Those working in the field <strong>of</strong> Credit Management<br />

and those aspiring to upgrade qualifications and<br />

training to the position <strong>of</strong> Credit Manager.<br />

Entrance Requirements<br />

The normal prerequisite for entry into this<br />

course is the satisfactory completion <strong>of</strong> an<br />

approved course <strong>of</strong> study at Year 12 level and to<br />

be currently employed in the Credit Industry.<br />

However, persons without year 12 who are<br />

considered to be sufficiently mature and<br />

experienced to undertake the course successfully<br />

may be admitted; this particularly applies to<br />

mature aged applicants and people with relevant<br />

industrial experience.<br />

Course Duration and Mode <strong>of</strong> Study<br />

The Advanced Certificate<br />

The Advanced Certificate comprises 10 units and<br />

is normally undertaken on a part-time basis over<br />

2 years.<br />

The Associate Diploma<br />

The Associate Diploma comprises 21 units, and is<br />

normally undertaken on a part-time basis over 4<br />

or 5 years.<br />

The College year is divided into 2 semesters each<br />

<strong>of</strong> approximately 17 weeks. Attendance <strong>of</strong> 5-7<br />

contact hours per week will normally be<br />

required. All classes are conducted on campus,<br />

with full-time concurrent work in the Credit<br />

Industry an essential element <strong>of</strong> the course.<br />

Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Recognition<br />

Completion <strong>of</strong> the Associate Diploma <strong>of</strong> Business<br />

(Credit Management) and the Advanced<br />

Certificate in Credit Procedures and Practices<br />

have been recognised by the Australian Institute<br />

<strong>of</strong> Credit Management as meeting its pr<strong>of</strong>essional<br />

membership requiremcnts.<br />

Availability <strong>of</strong> Similar Programs<br />

In addition to the Associate Diploma <strong>of</strong> Business<br />

(Credit Management) <strong>Swinburne</strong> also <strong>of</strong>fers an<br />

Advancctl Certificate in Credit Procedures and<br />
