O’Brien House Named after Mother Antonio O’Brien—Founding Order – <strong>St</strong> John of God<br />
O'Brien House celebrated the Feast Day of <strong>St</strong> John, 8th March, the patron saint of the <strong>St</strong> John of God Sisters.<br />
O'Brien House is named after Sister Antonio O'Brien from the <strong>St</strong> John of God order, our founding religious order.<br />
In 1908 Sr Antonia was the one of the first sisters to establish <strong>St</strong> Mary’s Primary School.<br />
On the day, a Mass was led by Father Matt in the Nulungu Chapel. During lunch O’Brien 1 sold Soda <strong>St</strong>ream<br />
soft drink to raise money for CARITAS and currently students are developing a crest to represent our House.<br />
In the photo below right, Yasmine Ruttiman is holding a clay plaque to celebrate the occasion. A first for <strong>St</strong><br />
<strong>Mary's</strong> <strong>College</strong>, we look forward to the other House Masses to be celebrated on the feast day of each of the<br />
Founders.<br />

It is evident that he House spirit is strong and<br />
developing at <strong>St</strong> Mary’s <strong>College</strong>. The House<br />
Swimming carnival this term enabled<br />
students to identify with and support their<br />
Houses, students dressed in House colours<br />
and cheered on their teams.<br />
