Appendix D: Windows XPe Troubleshooting<br />

Repair the <strong>K1297</strong> by Recovery Disk. To repair the <strong>K1297</strong> by the recovery disk,<br />

proceed as follows:<br />

CAUTION. Make sure that the protocol tester and the external CD-RW drive<br />

are both powered off!<br />

1. Attach the SCSI cable of the CD-RW drive to the SCSI I/O BUS<br />

connector of the instrument. The SCSI connector is located on the front<br />

of the <strong>K1297</strong> compact and on the rear of the <strong>K1297</strong>.<br />

2. Turn on the CD-RW drive .<br />

3. Insert the CD ROM labeled “<strong>K1297</strong>, Recovery CD (Build XPe)” into<br />

the CD-RW drive.<br />

4. Switch on the device. Press , when the initial BIOS screen<br />

appears. This opens the BIOS Setup dialog.<br />

5. Use the arrow keys to select the option “BIOS FEATURES SETUP”<br />

and press .<br />

6. In the dialog that opens, verify the settings of the “Boot Sequence”<br />

option. If the sequence A,C,SCSI is currently not selected, change it<br />

using the / keys.<br />

7. Press to return to the previous dialog.<br />

8. Press to “SAVE & EXIT SETUP”.<br />
